Meet the incredible individuals who laid the foundation for our mission to cultivate and mentor educated and honourable young men and women for community duties as Citizen-Soldiers.

Mr. Colin Nicassio

1st Commandant

Cadet (Virginia Military Institute) LTC- Ft. MAC

Colin Nicassio is a dedicated and accomplished individual who currently serves as the Pipe Band Drum Major at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. His passion for music and leadership has led him to excel in this prestigious role, where he plays a crucial part in leading and inspiring his fellow cadets. Prior to his time at VMI, Colin graduated from Etowah High School in May of 2022 with two distinguished seals on his diploma, a testament to his academic achievements and dedication to his education.

In addition to his academic and military pursuits, Colin has a strong commitment to giving back to his community. As a founding member of Fort Make-A-Change, he has been actively involved in volunteering with summer camps and after-school programs since 2019. Colin's dedication to serving others has not gone unnoticed, as he was awarded the Best Staff Member twice in 2021 and 2022 for his outstanding contributions. With a focus on helping young individuals become emotionally mature, disciplined, and competent leaders in today's society, Colin is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

Mrs. Krysten Carson

1st Deputy Commandant

MAJ- Ft. MAC

Krysten Carson is a compassionate individual who has dedicated her time to supporting various community service initiatives. In addition to her involvement in helping out with other military youth programs, she has been actively participating in volunteer programs for many years. Krysten's interest in public speaking and leadership led her to take classes in these areas, and she successfully graduated from the NALC Leadership Academy held at Maritime (MITAGS).

 

Having previously worked as a mail delivery driver for the USPS in Canton, Georgia, Krysten has developed a deep connection with the local community. Her firsthand knowledge of the community and its residents allows her to effectively utilize their services and provide meaningful support to the local area. Known for her motherly instinct towards the youth, Krysten approaches her interactions with young individuals with care and empathy, aiming to positively impact their lives and help them navigate their journeys.

CAPT. AMBER DUPONT

Medical Logistics Officer

CAPT- Ft. MAC

Amber Dupont is a dedicated mother of two who has always had a passion for serving her country. Although she dreamed of joining the Air Force, she ultimately chose a different path and became a surgical technician. Graduating from Chattahoochee Tech, Amber found fulfillment in helping others through her work in the medical field.

In addition to her career, Amber is also deeply committed to giving back to her community. She volunteered for the same military youth program as the other founding members of Fort Make a Change, where she discovered her passion for teaching kids discipline, self-resilience, and first aid skills. Through her work with the program, Amber has become a prominent figure in shaping the lives of young people and instilling valuable life skills within them.

SPC. Aaron Klein

1st Director of Cadet Training

SPC (US Army Veteran) CSM - Ft. MAC

Aaron Klein is a dedicated man who served in the U.S. Army aviation for five years, specializing in working on weapons systems and avionics systems of attack/scout helicopters. His passion for serving his country extended beyond his military service as he also volunteered for other military youth programs alongside the other founding members for three years.

As a father of four children, Aaron instilled a strong sense of patriotism and service in his family, with two of his children already planning to follow in his footsteps and join military branches. Aaron's ability to connect with youth on their level has been a driving force in his volunteer work and mentoring of young individuals interested in joining the military. His dedication to both his own family and the youth that he mentors highlight his commitment to serving and supporting others.

Why we created fort m.a.c

Fort M.A.C. was born out of a deep passion for supporting the growth and development of children in our community. As parents and volunteers, we saw firsthand the need for a safe and enriching place for kids to explore their interests. That’s why we founded Fort M.A.C., to create a space where children can receive the guidance and support, they need to excel academically, socially, and emotionally. We take pride in our personalized approach, ensuring that each child gets the attention they deserve. With a team of dedicated and caring professionals, we offer tailored experiences, engaging enrichment activities, and foster social development through fun and interactive activities. Our commitment is to help every child build confidence, develop skills, and grow into well-rounded individuals while making connections that will last.
